Jason Lichti
Licensed Professional Counselor
I am happy to join the work of Adagio House. The mission of community and support is one that is near and dear to my heart. I have worked in a variety of settings with youth and families, including outdoor recreation, food service, and camp ministry before finding myself drawn to counseling. For the past eight years, I’ve worked as a counselor in the Minnick School in Harrisonburg providing daily mental health support to the students and their families.
I look at the counseling relationship as joining with people on a journey. My role is to guide, nudge, support, share in the burdens, and listen, as you explore, rest, recover, process, understand, and navigate challenging situations. I am constantly amazed at the resilience, strength, and joy of the people I work with as they face hard things. I want you to know that you don’t have to be alone with them, and that nothing is wrong with you because you have hard things in your life.
I work from a person-centered perspective, utilizing trauma-focused interventions, play therapy, experiential activities, expressive arts, and mind-body skills to build a caring, supportive relationship to promote resilience. I am a Certified Trauma Practitioner through STARR Commonwealth, and an Adoption Competent Therapist through the Center for Adoption Support and Education.
