Fabiana Espinal

Resident in Counseling

I’m so grateful to be able to serve my clients as a Resident in Counseling at a place as welcoming as Adagio House! I’m a bilingual counselor able to provide services in Spanish and English. I am from Honduras and grew up in both Tegucigalpa and El Zamorano. I moved to Harrisonburg in 2013 to attend college and later graduate school at EMU where I received a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022. I also hold a graduate certificate in Restorative Justice from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding.

I have a particular interest in providing care that considers the needs of a person as a whole and have previous experience working in private practice, integrated mental health care within free clinic settings, as well as court-mandated groups.

It takes considerable courage to ask for help, particularly due to the stigma surrounding therapy. I am deeply committed to making the counseling experience as gentle and meaningful as possible. I believe in the power of community and that the relationship between the client and counselor is an extremely important part of the healing process. It’s always a privilege and a priority for me to be worthy of the trust of my clients; my goal is to offer people a judgment-free space that feels safe and genuine.
